Electric Blanket Safe In Sheets?

I got an electric blanket last year for Christmas. I love it but it is fuzzy and I find pieces of it everywhere!!! Would it be safe to sew 2 sheets around it to encase it? Or would that keep the heat in too much? Aren’t sheets made to keep heat in?

sorry to say this but you should get rid of it. electric blankets are an unnecessary luxury. you only need it for getting into bed as you soon warm up when in there. what i do is a minute of running whilst lying on my side. it may sound stupid but it certainly works.
don’t you have a b/f or husband you can warm your cold feet on. my wife always does that to me and i have to put up with it ‘cos i got rid of her blanket lol.

    that is not safe!!!!!!!!!!!
this is coming from the wife of an electrician !!!
Please do not do it. you could pierce the wire and get yourself electrocuted….that equals burns which could equal death b/c electricity burns you from the inside out!

Why don’t you just pop it into the dryer with a wet towel? That should help a lot.
I wash mine and never have had that problem. It’s 10 years old, and still GREAT.
Read the label on yours. It should say washable.

I’d call the manufacturer and ask about the safety of using a duvet cover. The blanket may over heat, if you do enclose it with sheets.
    Call and ask first.

It doesn’t sound safe. Why don’t you go to an alteration store and consult to them.
