How Long Is It Safe To Keep A Working Electric Blanket?

I have an electric blanket that is over 20 years old and still works. If it’s not on fire or electrocuting anyone, how do you know when it’s still safe to use it and when you should give it up? Thank you in advance for your response

It’s not that dangerous if not damp or wet. But after 20 years I’ld trough it away!

simple check with a multimeter. this is a resistance rating written on the manufature tag. if any wire is loose or broken inside that resistance goes up. if you can’t find a rating or test it, would be best to dispose of..a blanket gets folded repeatadly and that causes wire’s to crack and frey.

As long as it is still working.
